David Hulme on Urban Poverty

David Hulme* talks about urban poverty in Bangladesh in link to climate change and urban governance.

At the moment when looking at extreme poverty around the world, it’s usually seen as a rural problem because the majority of poor people are living in rural areas. But tens of millions of those people are moving into urban areas every year, and over the next generation a tipping point will be reached and majority of extremely poor people will be living in cities in developing countries rather than living in rural areas.
