Biography
Laila Barhoum is a small business development specialist in Gaza Strip Palestine. After having a master degree from Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Sussex, Laila has held two professional positions there. The first position was at a local NGO, Palestine Association for Education and Environmental Protection, as a program officer, within a project funded by HelpAGE international, and targets elder people with economic empowerment activities. The second and current position, is a small business development specialist, in a local NGO, Small Enterprise Center. We work with several partners (i.e. UNDP, Oxfam), targeting hard ship cases in Gaza Strip and the West Bank with economic empowerment activities, she also takes part in conducting research and studies with our partners.
