Biography
Ippei Tsuruga is a development practitioner at Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). He has extensive experience and knowledge in poverty, social protection and its instrument in developing countries. After obtaining a master degree in Poverty and Development (Economics) from the Institute of Development Studies, England, he worked for the International Labour Organisation in Cambodia on the development of national social protection strategy in relation to child labour. When moving to JICA, his role has been expanded greatly as a country assistance portfolio manager for Kenya, Somalia and Nigeria; and an advisor particularly on social protection and cash transfers.
